Security Log

When users try to authenticate into EfficiencySpring, their attempt is logged into the Sec_Log database table. The Security Log section allows you to view this information, providing the dates of the login attempts, the user names entered, and the statuses of the attempts.

When a user attempts to login via a login screen, a record with the status of "LOGIN ATTEMPT" is recorded. A second record, with either a status of "SUCCESSFUL LOGIN" or "INVALID LOGIN" is added based on the outcome of the attempt. For invalid logins, a summary of the login attempt is stored in the Comments field. This summary includes the username and password the user entered, as well as a variety of header information.

Logins through Windows Authentication and SharePoint group keys do not record "LOGIN ATTEMPT" or "INVALID LOGIN" records. They only record "SUCCESSFUL LOGIN" records upon the success of an automatic authentication.
