SharePoint Apps

This tool allows you to configure EfficiencySpring to be a centralized back-end for provider-hosted SharePoint apps.

The Internal App Namespace setting is for specifying a unique namespace that is present in the incoming URLs. When an app's namespace is detected in a URL, EfficiencySpring's design and navigation will behave based on that app's settings for the user's current session. The parameter can be included in the URL in the following manners:

  • https://www.mydomain.com/sharepointapps/{internalappnamespace}
  • https://www.mydomain.com/myappparturl/apppart.aspx?spappnamespace={internalappnamespace}

If you plan to run multiple apps with an EfficiencySpring installation, in is advisable for each app to also have it's own distinct full-qualified domain name, so that a user may have different types of apps open in their browsers at the same time.

The App Icon URL allows you to specify a link to an icon that will display at the top of the app.

The Redirect URL settings specifies the URL address that will serve as the start page of the app when it is run in full-screen mode.

If Automatically Create Local Accounts is checked, then EfficiencySpring will automatically create a local EfficiencySpring user account that will be synchronized with an incoming SharePoint user's account. If User Accounts are Specific To SharePoint Site is checked, then the EfficiencySpring user accounts created will be isolated to the SharePoint 2013 site, and only accessible via that specific SharePoint 2013 site.

You can also choose to automatically add users to specified EfficiencySpring user groups if they have successfully authenticated through the app. Additions to EfficiencySpring user groups can be limited to users that belong to SharePoint's default Owners, Visitors, and Members groups.
