Incoming RSS Feeds

EfficiencySpring ships with a standard end-user tool called Clippings that is used to display cached RSS news feed items. The news feed items are imported from various RSS sources using RSS Feed Monitor, one of EfficiencySpring's supporting command line executables.

You can configure which feeds the executable imports from the Incoming RSS Feeds section. Each RSS feed record contains a Source Name (a label for the feed) and a Source URL, which should be the direct URL to the feed, such as:

http://www.businessweek.com/rss/smallbiz.rss

The Last Scanned field contains the last time the executable imported news results from the feed. The Refresh Interval (minutes) field determines the frequency that the news feed should be checked for new postings. If the field is set for 90 minutes, and the executable runs every 20 minutes, then news results will be imported from the feed the first and fifth time the executable runs.

The Incoming RSS Feeds settings are stored in the tRSS_Feeds database table.
