Mailboxes

EfficiencySpring ships with two console applications that can import email from Microsoft Exchange mailboxes. The Exchange EWS Mail Monitor console application imports mail using Exchange Web Services. It should be used to import email from Exchange 2007 SP1 and Exchange 2010. The Exchange WebDav Mail Monitor console application utilizes the older WebDav standard, and should be used to import email from Exchange 2003.

This integration capability is useful for supporting email transmission as a method for posting information to an EfficiencySpring installation.

Imported emails are saved into the tExchange_Message database table.

Exchange WDS Mail Monitor Configuration Fields

The Mailboxes section allows you to configure which mailboxes will be scanned by the console application. The Exchange Box Name field is used to specify the label for the mailbox that will be used for EfficiencySpring interfaces, such as "Incoming Resumes Mailbox". The Exchange Email Address (EWS) field is used to specify the email address corresponding to the mailbox the email will be imported from, such as "resumes@mycompany.com". The Folder to Scan (EWS) field determines the folder within the Exchange mailbox that mail will be imported from, such as "Inbox" or "Sent Items".

The connectivity settings for the Microsoft Exchange mail server being scanned, such as the fully qualified domain name of the mail server, Windows username, and Windows password, are set in an offline configuration file.

Exchange WebDav Mail Monitor Configuration Fields

The Mailboxes section allows you to configure which mailboxes will be scanned by the console application. The Exchange Box Name field is used to specify the label for the mailbox that will be used for EfficiencySpring interfaces, such as "Incoming Resumes Mailbox". The Exchange Virtual Path (WebDav) field is used to specify the path to the mailbox, such as:

/exchange/resumes/inbox/

The Last Scanned field stores the last time the Exchange WebDav Mail Monitor executable scanned the mailbox. This date/time stamp is used by the executable to insure emails are not double-scanned into the database table. When first setting up a mailbox to be scanned, you can use this field to determine the starting date emails should be imported for (emails received prior to the entered date will not be imported).

The connectivity settings for the Microsoft Exchange mail server being scanned, such as the fully qualified domain name of the mail server, Windows username, and Windows password, are set in an offline configuration file.
