Topic Tree Setup

EfficiencySpring ships with meta topic linking capability. Data Manager records, Content Manager pages, File Manager files, and Commerce Manager products can be linked to specific topics that are setup in the site's topic tree. This will cause those linked objects to appear in Global Search results if a user searches by a topic they are linked to.

You can use the Topic Tree Setup page to create the site's topic tree. The ROOT node itself cannot be modified. Every other node can renamed, moved to a different branch, or deleted. In addition, you can add new topics. Every topic that is created is stored in the Topic_Tree table.

Users with Related Rights can view an object's associated topics when they are on the object's view page using the Related Information sidebar panel. Users with Link Rights can actively link objects to topics from the same sidebar panel.  Topic links are stored in the Topic_Links table.
